Chaos! (Caves of Chaos. that is...)

I don't know what's in the water in the OSR blogging community, but module B2: The Keep on the Borderlands is having a strong showing this weekend.

First thing I came across today was Jeff Sparks' video blog, which is about the module, and why he's using it for his Labyrinth Lord game.  Then, I find B/X Blackrazor's accounts of his players adventures in the Caves of Chaos, which are just priceless.

Anyone who knows me knows I am highly suggestible.  So, who's up for cave crawling??

  1. The first thing I ever ran for DnD was the little haunted keep where Black Dougal died.

The second thing was Keep on the Borderlands. I even made individual 2foot/square graph paper maps of every.. yes, every.. building in the keep. I put furniture in them, even including carrots and cleavers on kitchen counters.

  2. Wait...

Someone is actually WATCHING that vlog?!

    ;-)

Blackrazor's posts have also been giving me a lot of food for thought about B2 lately. I'm looking forward to tonight's (1st) session. Ultimately, though, I want the PCs to get up to 3rd or 4th level so we can roll into B10: NDT.

  3. Some old school D&D would be great. At one point I had that module memorized. It was the first thing I ran my brother and friends through when I was 10.

  4. Funny, I just made a blog post about B2 also! It's a timeless topic, I guess...

@Raven's Path - I'm impressed you ran this module when you were 10! When I was 10 it was way too complex for me and blew my mind - I had no idea how to run the overland or town/keep aspects of the module.

Michael, please tell me you have/could make scans of these! Scans + your commentary would make a superb post series.

  6. As much as home inspections are important, commercial property inspection also holds a vast importance as offices are considered to be the second place where people spend most of the time in a day. It is very important to get the place inspected thoroughly as EPA reported around 21000 deaths annually due to radon exposure which causes lung cancer in non-smokers. Radon inspection maryland is nothing as compared to the price you will have to pay when prolonged radon exposure will result in causing major health issues. Radon is a colorless odorless gas present in the air all around us in trace amounts but it becomes a hazard when it gets entrapped inside the house and the residents of the house are exposed to it. The safe levels of radon as suggested by EPA is 4pCi/l and the amount more than it is alarming and you need to install a radon mitigation system at your commercial property as soon as possible.
